What is LATONA_CASIA?

Aim

Ver3.0 uses the initial mid-mesh function provided by HyperWorks (Altair Engineering) or ANSA (BETA CAE Systems) and automatically generate the final high-quality mid-mesh result. This can be used for assy model with a few tens of parts.

  • Reduce manual work (final result has mesh quality error of about 1 - 2%)

About overall functions

It is as easy as just inputing the CAD geometry model into Graphical User Interface (GUI) and all the process will run automatically

Auto repair function for input CAD model

  • Auto-repair for erroneous input CAD model
    1. Surface cracks: stitch
    2. Surface loss: fill with new surface
    3. Unnecessary surface: delete duplicate, unconnected surfaces, and unwanted surfaces (in connection with mid-mesh generation)

Option to retrieve mid-mesh generation result data

  • Please select any software in use to obtain initial mid-mesh data, considering which one will give better tracking of mid-mesh result
    1. Select initial mid-mesh generation software: HyperWorks or ANSA
    2. Specify all the necessary parameters (mesh size, etc.) in parameter file

Execution of a few tens of models is possible (order of execution is determined by the order of model registration into GUI)

  • As simple as drag&drop the input CAD model into the GUI and click on "Run" button. After that, this software will run automatically
  • Execution status can be monitored through the GUI progress bar

Function to improve/fix mesh quality error

  • Control of mesh division number to avoid min length error
  • For optimization of mesh quality error while keeping the geometry shape, mesh size of equal length is created at the boundary edges

Analysis-ready mid-mesh model

LATONA_CASIA will fix the mesh quality error such as warpage, skew, max angle, etc. and give output of mesh result that is analysis ready for eigenvalue analysis (Optistruct.)

Inside LATONA_CASIA GUI, it takes only 3 steps to obtain the output mid-mesh result automatically

Procedure

Prepare 3 files as below

Option setting for choosing software in use to obtain initial mid-mesh data can be found inside parameter file
